Unofficial Google Maps Embedding How To

This is a guide on how to include or embed a Google Maps map viewer widget in your very own web page.

In the time since the Unofficial Google Maps Standalone Viewer was developed, Google has made it easier to embed a Google Maps viewer in your own page--which may mean you no longer need to use the Standalone Viewer in an iframe. The major requirement is your XML and XSL files must be on the same domain as the page containing the widget--if they are not, the widget will silently fail (due to a permission denied error).

Demo One shows how to use the _Map class to include the basic map-only widget.

Demo Two shows how to use the _MapsApplication class to show both the map and a "side panel".

Since I've been doing various Gmaps hacks I've had a couple of questions about donations, so, who am I to stand in the way of piles of cash? Your wish is my command: Donation information.
